ARPELAR CEMETERY ARPELAR, OKLAHOMA
- From the intersection of Hwy 270 & West Street in McAlester, go West
on Hwy. 270 for 11.0 miles into the community of Arpelar, Cemetery sign
is on left, also grocery store, turn left follow 0.4 miles, gravel road
to right, turn right, road goes into cemetery. There is no charge for
spaces, but there is a $50.00 fee for closing the grave and upkeep of
the cemetery. This will be collected at time grave is staked for
opening. There are no outside enclosure requirements.

ASH CREEK CEMETERY
- From McAlester take State Hwy 31 through Krebs to Richville "Y",
(3.6 miles), stay left on Hwy 31 for 8 miles just past Elm Point
Recreation Area, sign on right says Ash Creek Union Church, turn right,
stay on blacktop and go 2.6 miles, cemetery is behind church on left

ASHLAND CEMETERY ASHLAND COMMUNITY
- 2 miles North of Kiowa and 10 miles West of U.S. Hwy 69, turn right
at the Ashland road sign and follow that road until you see the cemetery
entrance on the left, the cemetery is on the South side of the Ashland
road, East of the community. Family must have permission for burial.

- Take U.S. Hwy 270 west to Atwood. In Atwood, turn right on Hwy 48.
travel 1 mile and turn left. Road leads straight into the cemetery. No
outer enclosure requirements. Hughes County District #3 opens graves.

BLANCO CEMETERY BLANCO, OKLAHOMA
- From the intersection of U.S. Hwy 69 (S. Main Street) and South
Street in McAlester, go South on Hwy 69 for 15.9 miles to Kiowa, turn
left in town on Hwy 63, follow the blacktop for approximately 7 miles.
The road takes you through the town of Pittsburg. When you reach Blanco,
the road bends to the left past the Blanco Post Office, turn left and it
is approximately 0.4 miles to the cemetery on the right or South side of
Hwy 63. No fees for burial at this cemetery. There is a pavilion at the
cemetery.

BLUE CEMETERY West OF MCALESTER, OKLAHOMA
- From the intersection of West Street and Carl Albert Parkway (U.S.
Hwy 270) in McAlester, go 5.8 miles West on U.S. Hwy 270, (sign on left,
Blue Holiness Church and also Verner Ranch sign), turn left and follow
blacktop road (past the church), 0.7 miles, road runs into the cemetery.
Family must call before using cemetery. There are no cemetery fees, and

BOHANNON CEMETERY
- Take U.S. Hwy 270 to Stuart, approximately 19 miles. Turn South at
Stuart and go through town. At school, turn left (this is State Hwy 31)
and stay on Hwy 31 for 6.2 miles. Turn right at Bohannon Church sign. Go
1 mile and turn left at intersection. Go 2 miles, turn right at church
sign. Go .3 miles, cemetery on right, church on left. Charge is $50.

BROOKEN CEMETERY BROOKEN COMMUNITY
- Take US Hwy 69 north to Hwy 9 east. Stay on Hwy 9 east to the
Enterprise intersection (Hwy 9 and Hwy 71). Turn left (north) at the
intersection. Go approximately 3.1 miles. When the highway takes a sharp
turn to the right, turn off the highway to the left and take the paved
road north approximately 1 mile. Turn left at the intersection, cemetery
is about .5 mile to the west.

BRUSHEY CEMETERY
- Take US Hwy 69 south to the Frink-Chambers Road just to the right of
the church. Follow that road for 3.1 miles, turn left. Go 2 miles to
Wise Road, turn right. Go 6.5 miles on Blanco Road into the town of
Blanco. Turn right onto gravel road with church sign 2.8 (across from
Post Office) turn left, go 1.4 miles. Turn right into drive of church.
No outer enclosure requirements. Must contact the pastor of Brushey
Missionary Baptist Church to arrange burial.

CANADIAN CEMETERIES
- There are 3 cemeteries in Canadian: Masonic, Red Oak, and McDougal
Directions to Masonic Cemetery & Red Oak Cemetery From U.S. Hwy 69,
travel North to the Canadian exit, turn left and go through Canadian,
cross rail road tracks, continue straight on blacktop road. Cross over
low water bridge, road will come to a "T"; turn left. Continue on dirt
road, road will go into cemetery, first Masonic Cemetery, then Red Oak
Cemetery. Directions to McDougal Cemetery Follow directions to Masonic
Cemetery, just before you get to Masonic Cemetery, you will see a cattle
guard to your left on private land, turn left across cattle guard and
follow the road. This road will curve around a large red barn, and the
road will end in cemetery. There are no outside enclosure requirements
and are no cemetery fees.

CARBON CEMETERY
- Take Hwy 31 thru Krebs to a "Y". Take Adamson Road (which is
straight ahead) for 2 miles. Turn right on the first road and go .2 of a
mile to a gate. There are 3 roads. Take the farther most right road and
it will go to the cemetery. No outer enclosure requirements.

CARNEY FAMILY CEMETERY CHAMBERS ROAD
- Take U.S. Hwy 69 South, turn West on Chambers Road, travel West 2
miles, the cemetery is on the North side, 100 yards from the locked
gate.

CHAMBERS CEMETERY South OF MCALESTER, OKLAHOMA
- South of McAlester, take U.S. Hwy 69 to Chambers Road, turn West,
travel 0.7 miles to just beyond the underpass of the Indian Nations
Turnpike, turn left 0.1 miles to the cemetery. There is a $50.00 lot up

CHOATE PRAIRIE CEMETERY West OF INDIANOLA, OKLAHOMA
- From the stoplight in North McAlester, take Business U.S. Hwy 69 for
3.3 miles to the intersection of U.S. Hwy 69 and State Hwy 113, go left
on State Hwy 113 for 15.5 miles to Indianola, turn left at school, and
stay straight on the blacktop county road. State Hwy 113 turns to the
North, DO NOT take this turn. Go 4.8 from Indianola on county road, the
cemetery is on the left. No outside enclosure requirements, and no other

CHRISTIAN HILL CEMETERY NEAR HAYWOOD, OKLAHOMA
- Take Hwy 31 and travel 8 miles West of McAlester. Turn South and go
.2 miles to the cemetery,located on the East side of the road. No outer

CROWDER CEMETERY CROWDER, OKLAHOMA
- From McAlester take U.S. Hwy 69 North for 17 miles to the Crowder
exit. Turn right at stop sign and bear to the right past the water
treatment plant. Go .9 of a mile through downtown, turn right off the
blacktop, road runs into the cemetery, there is a circular drive around
the entire cemetery. For burials the funeral home and family must notify
the Crowder Cemetery Committee, no burials unless notified. There are no
outside enclosure requirements. $50.00 plot charge. Contact persons:

DORSEY CEMETERY
- From the intersection of Stonewall and "D" streets in McAlester, go
4.2 miles on blacktop to Tannehill road, just past Coal Creek Bridge.
There is a sign on right. Turn left and travel 2.4 miles. Travel past
Tannehill Cemetery, Tannehill School and Tannehill Store, at bottom of
hill, turn right on Ulan Road (sign on right). Follow blacktop road for
4.3 miles to four way intersection, (Lily Pad Road). Turn right, go 1.5
miles to stop sign, turn right, go 0.3 miles, cemetery is on the left.
No outside enclosure requirements. No other cemetery fees. All cars
except the funeral home cars park outside the cemetery gate.

ELMWOOD CEMETERY HARTSHORNE, OKLAHOMA
- Take U.S. Hwy 270 East to Hartshorne, turn left at the first street
light, go over train tracks, turn left at stop sign, jog right, follow
until you see cemetery on left. Hartshorne City Hall takes care of
cemetery and opening and closing of grave. Charges are $201.00 for
opening and closing during the week. No Sunday services. No outside

FEATHERSTON CEMETERY
- Take Hwy 31 to Featherston and turn South at the old school
building. Travel .9 on a dirt road, turn East on the first road, then
turn North.

GOWEN-CAMBRIA CEMETERY GOWEN, OKLAHOMA
- From the Hwy 69-Hwy 270 cloverleaf in McAlester, go East on Hwy 270
for 12.4 miles to Hartshorne. Go through the town until Hwy 270 turns
left toward Wilburton. Turn left on Hwy 270 and travel 4.1 miles. The
road angles to the right for .2 mile. Turn right on gravel road for .4
miles, turn right into cemetery.

HAILEYVILLE CEMETERY HAILEYVILLE, OKLAHOMA
- Take Hwy 270 to Haileyville and turn North on the road just before
the US Post Office. Turn left at the"Y" in front of the Civic Center, go
across a small canal and turn right. Cross over the railroad tracks and
turn left and the first road, go .4 mile. Stop where the huge power
lines cross over the road and walk north under the power lines to the
first set of power line poles, turn to the right and go into the woods
about 100 feet.

HARPER’S VALLEY CEMETERY
- Take U.S. Hwy 69 South to Kiowa, turn West at the Kiowa Church of
Christ, which is Harper's Valley Road, and go 4.8 miles to the three
corners, turn South and follow the road 0.8 miles to the Baptist Church
(Old Harper’s Valley School), turn West just North of the church, go
across the cattle guard for about .5 of a mile. The cemetery is on the
North side of the road. No outside enclosure requirements, and no other
cemetery fees.

HICKORY GROVE CEMETERY HAYWOOD COMMUNITY
- Take U.S. Hwy 270 West to the Haywood exit, turn left, continue on
that road and travel through Haywood. You will see the entrance to the
Army Ammunition Plant, stay on the highway, the road will curve right
and left, cemetery is located on the right. No enclosure requirements,

HUGH LOW CEMETERY NEAR SCIPIO, OKLAHOMA
- From the intersection of Stonewall & “D” street in McAlester go
North on the blacktop road for 4.2 miles to the intersection of
Tannehill Road and McAlester Lake Road. Turn left and follow this road
past Tannehill Free Will Baptist Church and Cemetery, Tannehill School,
and the Tannehill Store. From the Tannehill Store, it is 8 miles to the
Scipio Baptist Church sign. Turn right (north) and go through Scipio,
past the store to the crossroads (Scipio Baptist Church is on the
southeast corner). Turn left (west) and go to the four-way intersection.
Turn right (north) and travel the road over the bridge to the top of the
hill. The cemetery is on the right. No outer enclosure requirements.

- From the stop light in North McAlester take Business Hwy 69 for 3.3
miles. At the intersection of State Hwy 113 & U.S. Hwy 69, turn left
onto State Hwy 113 and travel 11.9 miles, (sign on right), turn right go
0.7 miles, cemetery on right. No outside enclosure requirements, and no

5 miles, when you top a hill you will see a blue water tower, turn left
follow this road until you come to a dead end, turn left follow this
road for about a mile or so. No outside enclosure requirement, and no

- From Hwy 69 - Hwy 270 Intersection in McAlester, travel East on Hwy
270 for 14.3 miles through the communities of Krebs, Alderson, Bache,
Dow, Haileyville, and Hartshorne. From the intersection of Hwy 270 and
Hwy 1, outside Hartshorne, continue East on Hwy 1 for 6.8 miles to
Higgins & Damon Valley Road. Turn left on blacktop and follow for .9 of
a mile. Turn left and follow gravel road for 1.1 miles. Cemetery is on
the right.

MT. CALVARY CEMETERY McALESTER, OKLAHOMA
- Cemetery is located inside Oak Hill Cemetery. An outer enclosure is
required. Cemetery staff must contact the local Catholic church to
arrange for burials in Mt. Calvary.

North MCALESTER CEMETERY
- From the intersection of 5th Street & Carl Albert Parkway, turn
North on 5th street and travel North to Electric Avenue, you will make a
jog in the road going on to 7th street. Continue on 7th street to the
stop sign at 7th & Hereford Lane, turn right and the cemetery entrance
is on the left. Single row - row is which people can be buried at no
cost to the family. No spaces are saved, the next space in the row is
used.

- Take State Hwy 31 East to Quinton. When you first get into Quinton,
turn left to take Hwy 71 North for approximately 2.0 miles, turn left

PERTEET FAMILY CEMETERY (FORMERLY FLOWERY MOUND CEMETERY)
- Take U.S. Hwy 69 North to the Indianola exit, at the top of the exit
turn right, at the stop sign turn right, travel East .5 of a mile. Take
first road which turns North, then take first right, this will go past
the Bugtussle Baptist Church, the cemetery is located past the church on
the left. No outside enclosure requirements, and no other cemetery fees.

PINE TOP CEMETERY
- Take Hwy.69 South to Hwy 63 in Kiowa (at Double Quick Convenience
Store). Go East, thru Pittsburg and about 1 block past G & K Bar where
you must make a turn. Go right about .3 of a mile to a stop sign with
the Pittsburg County barn on the right. Turn left and stay on this
turning and bending road for 7.4 miles to the Turnpike crossover.
Crossover the turnpike and to 1 mile to a green cemetery sign, which
will be Pine Top Cemetery Road. Turn right. Cemetery is gated.

- Hwy 69 South from McAlester to the city of Kiowa. Turn left on Hwy
63 at the Double Kwik Store, go 2.6 miles to just outside the community
of Pittsburg. Turn left on blacktop road, go 1 mile, the road runs into
the cemetery. No outer enclosure requirements.

- Take U.S. Hwy 69 South to Kiowa, then turn East on State Hwy 63. Go
2 miles, turn South, go 1.5 miles, the cemetery is on the East side of
the road on the South side of the hill. No outside enclosure

PRYOR CEMETERY STUART, OKLAHOMA
- From the intersection of West Street and U.S. Hwy 270, take 270 West
for 19.3 miles to Stuart (sign on right side of Hwy). Turn left and go
through the downtown area to school house. Turn left and follow blacktop
road for 2.1 miles, cemetery sign on right. Turn left and follow road
into cemetery. All services are held in the chapel at the cemetery. No
outside enclosure requirements, Hughes County charges $50.00 to open and
close grave. No services on Sunday or Mothers Day (Decoration Sunday).

RED OAK CEMETERY BACHE, OKLAHOMA
- Take Carl Albert Parkway (U.S. Hwy 270) East through the communities
of Krebs, Alderson and Bache, (8.5 miles). There is a log cabin church
on the right hand side of the Hwy, turn left (North) just past the
church, go .3 of a mile to stop sign turn left, cemetery is on the
right. All burials must be cleared through the Red Oak Cemetery
Association, family must meet with cemetery board to stake grave. No

- From the intersection of West Street & U.S. Hwy 270, take 270 West
for 19.3 miles. Sign on right side of Hwy says Stuart, turn left and go
through the downtown area to school house (0.5miles), turn left and
follow blacktop for 4.7 miles, (you will pass Pryor Cemetery on the
left) turn right, go 2.6 miles to cemetery. No outside enclosure
requirements and no cemetery fees.

SAVANNA CEMETERY SAVANNA, OKLAHOMA
- From Old U.S. Hwy 69 and South Street in McAlester, go South for 7.6
miles to Savanna, turn left at the Savanna High School. Go 0.4 miles
(cemetery sigh on right), turn left for 0.1 miles and road runs into
cemetery. The county opens the graves and the city closes the graves.

SHADY GROVE CEMETERY
- From the stop light in North McAlester take Business Hwy 69 for 3.3
miles to the intersection of U.S. 69 and State Hwy 113, turn left for
5.3 miles, (sign says Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church) turn right
and go 0.5 miles, turn left by trailer house, gravel lane runs into
cemetery. Burials are limited to immediate family members of previously
interred. The cemetery committee must be contacted before any burials
are allowed. No outside enclosure requirement and no cemetery fees.

SOUTH ROCK CREEK CEMETERY NEAR RED OAK, OKLAHOMA
- From Red Oak, take Hwy 82 South (to the right) like going to
Talihina (3rd right turn after you get into town). Go 3 miles (very
sharp curves), turn right onto gravel road at South Rock Creek Church
sign. Stay on gravel road 1.5 miles, turn left onto dirt road through a
pasture to the right. The cemetery is about 1/4 mile before the church.

- From the intersection of Electric Avenue and Seventh Street, travel
East and follow the street past North McAlester Cemetery. At stop sign,
turn left and then back right, to E. North Street, cemetery is on the
right side of road, (across from DeFrange Apts). Family must contact St.
Joseph's Catholic Church rectory before grave is staked. Phone number

SULPHUR CEMETERY HARTSHORNE, OKLAHOMA
- From U.S. Hwy 270 in Hartshorne - turn right on the lake road, just
before you get to the Sonic Drive-In. Go approximately 4 miles South,
there is a small sign on the right. Turn right at the sign and go about
1 mile - you will see a large house on your left & then you will see a
road to the left that goes behind the house - turn left on this road and
this will go into the cemetery. No outside enclosure requirements and no
other fees.

- From the intersection of Stonewall & “D” Street in McAlester go
North on the blacktop road for 4.2 miles to the intersection of
Tannehill Road and McAlester Lake Road, turn left and go 1.3 miles,

TI VALLEY CEMETERY TI VALLEY COMMUNITY
- South U.S. Hwy 69 to Kiowa, turn left, take State Hwy 63 to
Pittsburg. Continue on State Hwy 63 to Blanco, approximately 7 miles,
past post office on right side of road, there will be a Brushey Baptist
Church sign. Turn right, go approx 1 mile, road will go to left or East,
3.5 miles then the road will turn South then East, 3.5 miles. Look for
sign for Ti Valley Baptist Church. Cemetery is across the road from
church. No enclosure requirements and no cemetery fees.

ULAN CEMETERY ULAN COMMUNITY
- From the intersection of Stonewall & “D” street in McAlester go
North on the blacktop road for 4.2 miles to the intersection of
Tannehill Road and McAlester Lake Road, turn left and go 2.4 miles. At
the bottom of the hill, turn right onto Ulan Road. Follow the blacktop
road for 9.1 miles to an intersection that leads to the turnpike.
Continue straight ahead for 0.2 miles, turn right, the cemetery is on
the left. There is a pavilion outside the cemetery. No outer enclosure
requirements.

UNION CHAPEL CEMETERY South East OF KIOWA
- From U.S. Hwy 69, take State Hwy 63 in Kiowa. Go 2.1 miles, turn
right on gravel road, go 5.4 miles, turn right at stop sign, go 0.7
miles, turn left, go 0.2 miles, cemetery is on the right, just West of
the Old Union Chapel School House in Wards Valley. No outside enclosure
requirements and no cemetery fees.

- From U.S. Hwy 69, go 7.5 miles West on the Ashland road, turn North,
travel North along side Ammunition Plant fence 4.0 miles to end of road,
turn right (East) go 0.5 miles, turn left (North), go 0.5 miles, turn
right (East) for 0.3 miles, turn left (North) again and follow the lane
to the cemetery. It is a fair weather road. No outside enclosure
requirement.

- From the intersection of West Street & U.S. Hwy 270 in McAlester,
take 270 West for 17.4 miles, cemetery sign on left side of Hwy, turn
left for 1 mile cemetery is on left. 11 miles to Arpelar, then 6.4 miles
from Arpelar to White Chimney. The requirements for burial 1. Anyone may
be buried in the new section. 2. The old section is limited to persons
with family already buried in this section. 3. A $35.00 clean-up fee is
