A: There is no state law governing this period of time. When a body is embalmed, a swift burial is not an issue. At Bishop Funeral Service, we have refrigeration so that, if it becomes necessary to wait an extended period of time before burial, even if the body is not embalmed, in most cases, it is not a problem.
