What's Your Question?

Q: Can a function less formal than a funeral or memorial service be arranged ?

Q: Is a funeral or memorial service always held in a funeral home or place of worship ?

Q: May I make the necessary arrangements in advance ?

Q: Do clergy always officiate at a funeral service ?

Q: Is it appropriate to have viewing and not a service ?

Q: What purpose does a funeral serve ?

Q: What do funeral directors do?

Q: How soon after a death must an individual be buried?

Q: Will life insurance pay for funerals?

A: Yes, as a convenient method of payment, most funeral homes will allow for an insurance assignment. This assignment transaction is processed by the funeral home, releasing only the funds to cover the funeral expenses to the funeral home, with any remaining amounts going directly to the beneficiary.
Keep in mind that it’s very important to speak with your local funeral director to ensure that your insurance policy is applied in accordance with your wishes. Simply having life insurance will not make the important decisions that must be made in regard to your funeral - which funeral home will take care of the service, what type service will be held, how much will be spent on the funeral service, etc.

Q: Why are funerals so expensive?

Q: If I have already pre-arranged my funeral, can I transfer that pre-arrangement to a different funeral home?

Q: Who is the governing body for funeral homes and funeral directors?
